ANITA'S CRANBERRY NUT BREAD

2 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 CUP SUGAR
1 1/2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
1 /2 TEASPOON SALT
1/2 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
3/4 CUP ORANGE JUICE
1 WELL BEATEN EGG
2 TABLESPOONS SHORTENING
1 TABLESPOON GRATED ORANGE PEEL
1/2 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS
1 1/2 CUPS CHOPPED CRANBERRIES

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350.MIX TOGETHER FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER, SODA,SALT AND ORANGE PEEL. ADD ORANGE JUICE, EGG, SHORTENING TO DRY INGREDIENTS AND MIX UNTIL WELL BLENDED.STIR IN NUTS AND CRANBERRIES.TURN INTO A GREASED 9X5 BREAD PAN AND BAKE FOR 60 MINUTES OR UNTIL A TOOTHPICK INSERTED INTO THE CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN. COOL BEFORE SERVING.
