Baby Ruth Cookies
1 1/3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening or butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 Baby Ruth candy bars,( 2.1-ounce each) chopped (1 cup)
1. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. Cream butter or shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture until well blended, then mix in the chopped candy.
2. Chill dough for at least 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto parchment lined cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until done. Remove from sheets and cool on wire racks.
