SNICKERDOODLES


1/2 CUP BUTTER
1/2 CUP SHORTENING
1 & 1/2 CUPS SUGAR
2 EGGS
2 & 3/4 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
2 TEASPOONS CREAM OF TARTAR
1 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
1/4 TEASPOON SALT
2 TABLESPOONS SUGAR
2 TEASPOONS CINNAMON

CREAM THE BUTTER, SHORTENING,AND SUGAR TOGETHER, ADD THE EGGS.BLEND IN THE FLOUR, CREAM OF TARTAR, SODA AND SALT. RESERVE THE 2 TABLESPOONS OF SUGAR AND CINNAMON TO ROLL THE COOKIES.ROLL THE DOUGH INTO BALLS APPROX 1 INCH, (THE SIZE OF WALNUTS.)PLACE ON AN UNGREASED COOKIE SHEET AND BAKE
FOR 8-10 MINUTES AT 400. COOL ON WIRE RACKS.

  1. I changed it and so much better - use 1/2 cup butter crisco and 1/2 cup regular crisco. Line parchment paper on tray - back at 350 for 9 minutes instead. (2021)
