SUE'S BROWNIES

2 CUPS SUGAR
1 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS OR PECANS
1/2 CUP CRISCO
1 & 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
4 SQUARES UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE
1 TEASPOON VANILLA
4 EGGS
1/2 CUP BUTTER
1/4 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER
1/2 TEASPOON SALT

MELT BUTTER, CRISCO AND CHOCOLATE IN A DOUBLE BOILER AND LET IT COOL. BEAT SUGAR, AND EGGS UNTIL FLUFFY. MIX FLOUR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT TOGETHER AND ADD TO THE EGG MIXTURE. BEAT WELL. ADD THE CHOCOLATE MIXTURE, VANILLA AND NUTS. POUR INTO A 9 X 13 PAN AND BAKE FOR 20 MINUTES AT 350. WHEN COOL, FROST WITH YOUR FAVORITE CHOCOLATE FROSTING.
